Rochdale is a contest a band who can perform Benicàssim Festival in Spain are through to the second round have made it.

The ‘Supajam - Fast Track to Benicassim’ competition thrown a greatest chance only for a band to perform at the festival on the same bill as Arcade Fire and the Arctic Monkeys.

ProjectAURA the top 5 is placed in a band living in London for last in need of progress.

Drummer, Ollie Felton, said: “We're absolutely ecstatic to have reached the second round and also very overwhelmed at the amount of support we have received, not just off our friends, but from strangers who just happened to bump into our music and enjoyed it.

“We're all rather nervous now though because this is a massive opportunity for us, pretty much career changing, so we're looking at it in more hope than expectation.”

The band is made up of Jonathan Henstock, 21, Rick Keen, 22, Paul Roberts, 25 and Ollie Felton, 18.

ProjectAURA have been together for two years and a half and he writes all his songs. Their idols are different from The Beatles to Radiohead.

Mr Felton said: “I entered the competition on behalf of the band because I saw an advert for it on the internet and thought it was an ideal opportunity to gain a bigger and wider fan base, as it would allow more people from all over the world to have a listen to us and vote for us if they wished to.”

He concluded: “Even if we don't get through to the final, the amount of exposure we've received from the competition is huge.

“Also playing on the main stage at Europe's biggest music festival would be quite an honour and would be a huge step to getting us signed.”

Now open for voting period will be May 22.

Rochdale band has made second round for competition to perform at Benicassim Festival

A Rochdale band has made second round of a competition which could see them to perform at the Benicassim Festival in Spain.

The Benicassim Festival has been given a great chance for only one band to perform through this competition ‘Supajam - Fast Track to Benicassim’.

On the same bill as include Arcade Fire and the Arctic Monkeys. Thousands bands have entered and just 40 have progressed to round two – including Rochdale’s very own projectAURA.

Benicassim Festival have been revealed new announcement

Benicassim Festival have been revealed new announcement about this summer year event.

Plan B, James Murphy, The Joy Formidable, Antònia Font e Indienella are new addition to have signed to perform in July.

Other bands also include Arcade Fire, Arctic Monkeys, Mumford & Sons, Portishead, The Strokes, Primal Scream, Brandon Flowers, and more.

Benicassim Festival event will present 4 days, and its Tickets will change price on May 19th.

4 day tickets will go to £ 170 from £ 165. All 4-day tickets on Monday 11th July Monday 18th July free of charge from the area in Dera guarantee a place.

Benicassim Festival line-up LCD Soundsystem's James Murphy, Plan B and The Joy Formidable

Benicassim Festival line-up LCD Soundsystem's James Murphy, Plan B and The Joy Formidable have been added to perform in this year festival in Spain.


Other band also appear on the stage such as Elbow, Mumford & Sons, Tinie Tempah, Friendly Fires, Beirut, Noah & The Whale, Bombay Bicycle Club and Big Audio Dynamite.

While lastly headline acts Arcade Fire, Arctic Monkeys and The Strokes are perform at the event on July 14-17.
